Needle In A Haystack
Sometimes we all have to realize that finding something that we know can really get us to where we want to be is harder to find than we initially hoped. Finding that one crucial element that propels us to our weight loss or perfect physique goal much quicker than originally conceived before in attaining. Which of course is everyone’s ultimate goal here. Realistically, this is harder to find than most things in life and will take you some time to figure out.
Think about these 3 things.
- Could you be doing more, or are you happy with the path you’re on and progress you’re currently making and have made
- Have you discovered what your X factor is and what it is that helps give you an edge over everyone else (like a secret weapon)
- Where do you see yourself with your diet and exercise progress in 3 whole years down the road, and will it be where it should?
Its good to look at the bigger picture many times and ask yourself, how can I get there and what will it take? Lay everything out in front of you. I’m an organized person myself and organization has helped me throughout my life in many ways. I’ve written many posts already on organization alone because to me its good to organize your thoughts even if these very thoughts have to translate into physical work later.
I constantly stress this as perhaps organization is my little X factor or perhaps one of them (who knows you could multiple as well). Writing everything out, laying it all out visibly, and mapping things out are all things that work wonders when done correctly. This advice given here and in previous posts can be taken however you want. Alternatively, maybe you just need someone to talk too. Maybe your X factor could be as silly and simple as having someone communicating with you constantly putting new ideas into your head about these things over and over day in and day out. A close friend let’s say that’s just as passionate if not more about dieting and exercise than yourself. This alone just might give you the push and the motivation to bringing yourself to where you want to be.
So maybe your saying to yourself I already know what my X factor or secret weapon is and its just not that effective and works slower than other peoples best strategies. News flash, this is not your X factor! For some, it takes sometimes years for them to figure out what system, plan, or routine works best for them. I know it didn’t come right away for me. Its like finding a needle in a haystack. You might get lucky, or you might big digging through the metaphorical clutters of life for longer than you’d expect.
The final thought is this. If you haven’t found your groove yet and don’t know why or how to find it for that matter, its not too late to start digging away. Some might delicately pick through that haystack one straw at a time. Others might might be frantically clawing away ripping through one mound after another. I don’t think either of these are the way to go. I say find an intelligent search pace somewhere in the middle of those two. Try new things every other day experimenting with foods or even new food groups completely foreign to you altogether. With exercise, don’t be afraid of something new even if you know you’ll be paying for it in the morning. Branch out and embrace life and every healthy living facet that comes to mind! Sooner or later, you’ll see the big picture. You found that needle! But you’ll see it wasn’t about the needle itself in the end. It was about the way you came to it. And in two sentences, that is what Dieting and Exercise is all about!
