Off Day

I can’t stress it enough. You guys got to sometimes take it easy. Take it down a notch. Take it to baseline. Take it to the recovery room. Take it to the jacuzzi. You get what I’m saying. I’m just trying to emphasize the importance of this is all.

From the scientific standpoint, rest and sleep periods can have more of an impact on your health than you probably originally thought. A good night’s rest is a huge part of how you operate and function the next day. Studies have shown that chronic sleep loss can lead to weight gains, a decrease in your immune systems power, and high blood pressure. Other complications for the sleep deprived include cardiovascular health and functionality, irritability and impatience effecting overall mood, safety issues from suddenly falling asleep during the daytime, and even the memory can be affected.

Recuperation periods can differ in many, but generally are about the same for most adult male to males, and adult female to females. Restful activities like taking a bath, or reading a book can be good. But your whole self needs a rest. Don’t bother yourself with anything fitness or weight loss related when you rest. The last thing you want is for the mind to become flooded with these two areas of interest alone. We need to give our minds a break too from it all. In a sense, give your mind a break. Don’t bother yourself with anything informational that’s fitness related. This way when your ready to get back into your regiment, you’ll be going in with a clear conscious focused and ready with your mind a clean slate, ready to take on whatever it is you throw at yourself. That’s how you got to it folks.

Sweat Sufficient

Oh Damn! Look at this guy! Must of been a hard day at the office. Maybe that crazy boss of his put one too many TPS reports on his desk when he wasn’t looking (Office Space reference). If you haven’t seen that film, um, go rent it today, like asap. Anyway, I want to talk about something gross. Not for too long so don’t worry. Now I’m directly gearing this strategy towards our exercise routines alone. When we work out, we sweat, and for those of you who don’t, I guess your either lazy and not putting forth enough effort or your a professional athlete of the elite most status. I think we could all kind of use our sweat as a recognizable instrument of measurement in strenuous physical exercise. You could use your judgement to decide what amount is right for you to drain out before you call it a day at the exercise office. Do you want to have a day where your a dripping swamp mess with a pool underneath you, or a day where your pits have little splotches, or somewhere in the middle of those two. I myself have been using the sweat meter as a judgment device myself lately. Just look into the mirror every so often looking at your shirt to track your perspiration progress. Give it a try. See how this works for you. Don’t forget to rehydrate almost immediately when you finish working out or before you leave whatever place it might be where you go to get your swell and sweat on. Good luck guys.

A Salad A Day

Remember that old saying, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”. I liked that one because it’s making a very distinct point, in several ways. I’ve sat, and thought about this, and probably a little too deeply into it, but got something good out of it. I got an idea. See some people take this expression in the literal sense and say okay I have to eat an apple every day to keep me healthy. Wrong, I don’t think this is the point whoever came up with this old expression was trying to make. They’re simply saying if you eat something healthy like an apple daily, then kudos to you.

However I’ve come up with an expression of my own stemmed from the route of this expression that we’ve all heard over and over. Hows “A Salad a day keeps the pounds at bay”. That’s right kids, I came up with that all by my big self. Would you look at that, he’s not only handsome, but smart too. Please don’t take that last past serious. Originally I was going to just say a salad a day keeps the doctor away but, they all pretty much point to the same thing. Eat healthy, daily. Better than an apple, a salad can actually pass as a whole meal. For ideas on making a substantial and healthy salad you should visit sites like About Salads to get the creative juices flowing. You can incorporate chicken and other meats as well into your dish making it more filling. Especially if you’re on a stricter diet, I’d highly recommend you pick a lot of greens at the store. Heads of lettuce are getting more expensive now, I know. So maybe try comparing prices of those with those bagged bundles of Romaine lettuce which can sometimes offer to be a good substitute.
